When Chrysler Keys Act Up

  • Bought a used Pacifica with just one fob? We add a second fob so the van always has a spare.
  • Fob locked inside the Pacifica? Getting you back in comes first; then we test whether the fob still works.

Chrysler Keys by Type

  • Chip keys: the PT Cruiser, earlier Sebring and Town & Country, and other Chryslers built between the late 1990s and about 2007.
  • Fobiks (push into the dash and turn): the Town & Country of roughly 2008–2016, the Sebring from about 2007, the 200 from 2011 to 2014, and many 300s.
  • Keyless Enter 'n Go, button start: every Pacifica since 2017, the Voyager, most 200s from 2015, and many 300s from 2011 on.

The same model can use either key. A 2010 Chrysler 300 uses a Fobik you push into the dash, while many 2011 and newer 300s start by button. Read your VIN to us at (443) 527-1442 and we'll know which one to bring.

Chrysler Key Problems We Fix

Chrysler Keyless Enter 'n Go fobs

  • Extra and replacement Chrysler fobs are programmed here for the Pacifica, Voyager, 300 and 200.
  • A fob the Chrysler can't sense usually has a weak battery. On many newer models, the engine will still start if the fob's tip is held on the start button as you push it; the manual in your glove box lists the exact steps.
  • Every fob gone? A new one can be programmed at the vehicle on most Chryslers.

Broken Chrysler key? Fobik case or chip key head

  • Fobik cases split open over time and the emergency blade works loose. A new case keeps your chip and board in use.
  • Chip keys on a PT Cruiser or older Sebring tend to break at the plastic head; keep the pieces, since the chip may still be good.

Good to Know

  1. Can you make a new Fobik for my Town & Country? Yes. We program a new Fobik to your van.
  2. Can you fix the sliding door buttons on my Pacifica fob? If the buttons are worn out, we can program a new fob with all the buttons working.
  3. Does a Chrysler 300 Fobik work in a Dodge? No. Each Fobik is programmed to one vehicle.
  4. Chrysler talks about Keyless Enter 'n Go. What does it do? It's the name Chrysler gives its keyless entry and push-button start. You can leave the fob in a purse or jacket, and the car reads it when you touch the door handle or press start.
  5. Why won't my Town & Country Fobik turn in the dash? Sometimes the Fobik is worn, and sometimes the ignition module has failed. The two act alike, so we test both before deciding which one needs replacing.
  6. Does my Chrysler fob hide a metal key? Yes. Fobiks and push-start fobs both carry an emergency blade that opens the driver's door.
