Fobs get dropped, sat on and carried around for years. If the case is split or the rubber buttons are worn through but the circuit board still works, we fit that board into a new shell. If the board is damaged, you get a brand-new key or fob, programmed and tested, instead.

  6. What's the difference between a chip key and a remote key? A chip key has a small transponder in the head that the car has to recognize before the engine will run. A remote key adds lock and unlock buttons, so the chip and the buttons are each programmed.
  7. I bought a key online. Can you use it? Sometimes. Read us the part number printed on it at (443) 527-1442. We check that it fits your car before we head out.
