Good to Know

  1. Will a key cut without a chip start my car? On many cars, no. It may open the doors, but the engine needs the chip.
  2. Can a spare be a plain key with no buttons? On many cars, yes. The chip starts the car, and you lock the doors by hand.
  3. Should the spare go on the same key ring? Better not. Keep it at home or with another driver, so one lost ring doesn't take both.
  4. How many keys can my car hold? Many cars can store only a set number of keys, and the limit depends on the make. Tell us how many you already have when you call.
  5. Do I have to take my car somewhere for a spare? No. We make the spare right in your driveway or your work lot, and your car stays put.
